The Watford 10K Charity Fun Run has been managed by the Myasthenia Gravis Association for the past 9 years. It has become a professionally managed and successful race and a permanent fixture in the runners calendar. The race is registered with the South of England Athletic Association and is a member of the Brithish Association of Road Races. Registraion and membership of these associations demonstrates that race is managed to a high standard and all aspects of health and safety, race organisation and security are taken into account.
For several years Watford Round Table have supported the MGA charity by organising the marshalling and water stations for the race and providing IT support to ensure the systems operate successfully. From 2007 onwards, Watford Round Table have taken over the organisation and management of the event and we are very pleased to be providing such a valuable service to the community and raising much needed funds to support local charities.
Nick Wood, Chairman of Watford Round Table 2006, says
“We are excited to be organising the run in it’s 10th anniversary year and we look forward to many more successful years for the Watford 10K Charity Fun Run. I would like to thank the MGA charity for their excellent management of the event for the past 9 years and also our sponsors - Matthew Arnold & Baldwin and Clydesdale Bank - for their continued support this year. Plus, we are very pleased to welcome Baker Tilly as a new sponsor for 2007.”
Geoff Fowler, Chariman of Watford Round Table 2008, says
“2008 was a record year for the Watford 10K Charity Fun Run with 1500 runners enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery in Cassiobury Park and Wippendell Woods. We are already working towards raising more money for local charitable causes in Watford and the surrounding areas in 2009. Unfortunately our sponsors Matthew Arnold & Baldwin, Clydesdale Bank and Baker Tilly are all unable to support us this year but we thank them for their valuable support in the last 2 years. We would welcome any discussion with other corporate sponsors so please do contact us if this might interest you.”
