Before the race has even been run, The Watford Round Table 10K Charity Fun Run is already delivering benefits to the local community. Dorothy Thornhill, Mayor of Watford, joined Nick Wood , chairman of Watford Round Table, to present a cheque for £1,500 to the Turning Point charity in Watford. The donation will buy a new audio visual suite for the charity’s residents, 3 of whom were in residence to accept the donation.
Linda Harris of Turning Point said “We are very grateful to Watford Round Table and everyone who takes part in the Watford 10k Charity Fun Run for this donation. Our residents love to watch films but it is difficult to take them to the cinema and this money will really improve their lives.”
The Watford 10k Charity Fun Run is sponsored by Matthew Arnold Baldwin, Clydesdale Bank and Baker Tilly. All three local companies donate their time and resources to help organise the charity race each year. Richard Hanney, Senior Partner at Matthew Arnold & Baldwin, and Charlotte Wrigley, Partner - Business Banking were on hand to support the donation.
Nick Wood from Watford Round Table commented “The Watford 10k Charity Fun Run is now in its 10th year and Watford Round Table are keen to ensure the day is as successful as in previous years. This year all the money raised by the event will go directly to local charities so it is really important that local people enter and help raise as much as we can. The race is open to all abilities and is very much a family day with the Junior Fun Runs always very popular with kids and with Mums and Dads!”
The Watford Round Table 10K Chairty Fun Run will be held this year on Bank Holiday May 7th in Cassiobury Park. There are 3 races with the first Junior Fun Run starting at 10.30am with the main 10k run at 11am.
